There are just under 4,500 jobs in Langeland Municipality, with just under 80% of these jobs held by people who live in the municipality. 32% of employed residents commute out of the municipality, half of them to our neighbouring municipality of Svendborg. Within an hour’s drive of Rudkøbing, there is access to a total of 123,300 jobs.

Our more than 600 self-employed business owners account for 14% of all jobs in the municipality. Nationwide, self-employment accounts for just 6% of jobs. Entrepreneurship is thriving and is part of a strong network, and there is always room for more. Here, it is easy to set up and run a business.
Langeland Municipality has a business service that can assist every step of the way, from start-up to further development and skills enhancement for established businesses, in close collaboration with Erhvervshus Fyn. We maintain close dialogue and good cooperation with the business community.
It is through collaboration that the best solutions are created – whether these are solutions for individual businesses or policy decisions in the business sector. In other words, there is a short path from individual businesses to the municipal departments and the policy-making process.

More than 500,000 tourists stay overnight on Langeland and Strynø every year, so a job in the tourism industry is also a possibility. You can find work at one of our many accommodation providers or restaurants. Or perhaps with our boat or holiday home rental companies.
