A new film festival with island spirit
The Langeland International Film Festival focuses on films and stories from island communities around the world – with room for community, immersion and curious conversations. The festival brings together film, art and culture that reflect life close to the sea.
Three days of film – three venues on Langeland
The Langeland International Film Festival 2026 three-day festival takes place at inspiring locations such as Bio Langeland, Broløkke Herregård and Langeland Efterskole:
- Friday 22 May: Opening night at Bio Langeland with Danish ‘island films’ – both short films and feature films.
- Saturday 23 May (Bio Langeland morning): Nordic and international island-themed films bring the world to Langeland.
- Saturday 23 May (evening): Gala dinner for filmmakers, Nordic films and concert at Broløkke with Nordic short films and a musical tribute with students from Humble Music Efterskole.
- Sunday 24 May (morning): International island films and workshop led by renowned Canadian director and film professor Tamara Segura at Langeland Efterskole.
Global outlook – local roots and partners
The festival collaborates with both local and international partners. The list of partners includes Film Fyn, Air Canada, the Canadian government/ambassador in Denmark, Langeland Municipality, Langeland Sammen, Langeland Efterskole and Musikefterskolen in Humble.
