Submarine captain for a day

Do you have a child with imagination and curiosity? The activity ‘Submarine captain for a day’ takes children on a fun and educational mission where they have to think like a real submarine captain in the underwater world of the Cold War. Here they have to complete four tasks involving listening, looking, discovering and decoding. The activity costs only £3 per child – and remember: admission to the museum is free for children. Of course, there is a small prize if all missions are completed.

Free guided tours

Join us on an exciting journey back to the front line of the Cold War – in the middle of Langeland! Langelandsfortet is located in scenic surroundings, but has a dramatic history. Discover impressive 150 mm cannons, secret underground bunkers, anti-aircraft positions and stories of espionage and surveillance of the Baltic Sea. The guides take you behind the scenes and tell you how Danish soldiers kept an eye on the movements of the Warsaw Pact. The tour is free once you have paid the entrance fee – and you do not need to register.

Tour of the Spækhuggeren/Submarine

Come behind the scenes on the submarine Spækhuggeren! Would you like to see how we are working to rebuild the submarine S 327 – Spækhuggeren? Although the exhibition is not yet complete, we are opening our doors for some exclusive tours during the autumn holidays. Spækhuggeren has an impressive history – from its time as an operational submarine in the Danish navy from 1961 to 1989, to being rebuilt by a dedicated team of volunteers at Langelandsfortet. The project has been underway for more than a year, and now you have a unique opportunity to get up close to the process and experience the work of bringing the submarine back to life. The event is free once you have paid the entrance fee – no registration necessary! Come and get a rare glimpse behind the scenes. We look forward to sharing the project with you!

Discover the submarine Spækhuggeren

Take a rare look inside the submarine S 327 – Spækhuggeren – which is still under reconstruction. You can join an exclusive tour and see how volunteers are working to bring the old submarine back to life. An exciting experience for both technology enthusiasts and history lovers. The tour is free once you have paid the entrance fee – no registration required.

Creative workshop for children with graphic printing

Artist Ann-Kerstina is behind a fun, creative holiday activity for children, young people and families, working with graphic printing and submarine models. The submarines are folded, coloured and decorated with graphic printing. Participation is free for children.

Ride with DAFFEN

During the autumn holidays, on selected days, you can take a ride around the fort in the military group vehicle DAFFEN. A ride costs £2.50 per person and is guaranteed to give you butterflies in your stomach and a smile on your face. DAFFEN is quite old, so keep an eye on the fort's Facebook page for any changes.

Hungry? Stop by the food truck

When you get hungry, the fort's food truck is ready with freshly brewed coffee, paninis, ice cream, hot dogs and cold drinks. Enjoy your break with a view of a submarine.

Experience the whole fort

There is plenty for the whole family to experience at Langelandsfortet: walk through authentic bunkers, get up close to a submarine, a minesweeper and a MIG fighter jet – and learn about espionage and the history of the Cold War. A day filled with fun, learning and experiences in the middle of the UNESCO Global Geopark South Funen Archipelago.
