Film Festival at Bio Langeland – opening night featuring Danish films

On Friday evening, the film festival at Bio Langeland in Rudkøbing opens with an atmospheric start to several days of cinematic experiences. Film lovers will gather here for an evening of Danish feature films, special guests and shared experiences in the cinema’s intimate setting.

Danish feature film sets the tone

The evening begins with a screening of the Danish feature film *Paradis*. The film provides the backdrop for an intense narrative in which a family’s holiday takes an unexpected turn. It is a powerful start to the festival and an experience that provokes thought.

Welcome and live music in cosy surroundings

After the film, the Mayor of Langeland welcomes everyone to the festival. The evening then continues with the opening ceremony and live music from the pupils at Humble Efterskole, creating a relaxed and intimate atmosphere.

Film screening with guests and discussion

Later in the evening, the feature film *Welcome to the Moon* will be screened. Director Aske Bang will be in attendance and will introduce the film alongside actor Stanislav Sevcik. The audience will have the opportunity to gain a deeper insight into the film’s creation through a discussion with the filmmakers. The film is set on Møn and has a clear focus on island life, relationships and stories from small communities – themes that also characterise Langeland.

Rebecca Pruzan, Programme Director of the Langeland Film Festival:

"I am truly delighted to present *Welcome to the Moon* on Friday 22 May at our first Langeland International Film Festival. The film uses Møn’s raw and striking landscapes as a driving force in a story that is both deeply humorous and unsettling. It is an original and unpredictable cinematic experience that perfectly reflects our focus on the unique stories of island life."
