Fiskeriets Hus - Discover Langeland's fishing history
Discover the history of fishing and try your hand at skippering in the museum's ship simulator during Geopark Days.
In connection with Geopark Days, Fiskeriets Hus in Bagenkop invites you to three exciting open museum days. On 29, 30 and 31 May from 10am to 5pm, you can explore a time warp where the history of fishing is told through living exhibitions, artefacts, videos and personal stories.
The museum contains everything from curious fishing gear and a real fisherman's home to model ships and paintings. See the workshops that kept the industry going and learn about the willpower and diligence that characterised the everyday lives of fishermen. On the walls are nameplates from cutters collected by local enthusiasts over the years.
Try your hand at a fishing boat
Board the museum's life-like ship simulator and experience what it's like to sail a real cutter in Bagenkop Harbour and the surrounding waters. You can navigate in both sunshine and storm - and feel the sea like a real skipper.
