Cycle tour through the rolling countryside around Tranekær, 23 km

The cycle tour through the Tranekær Estate landscape takes you through a beautiful, rolling area in the northern part of Langeland. The route follows small, quiet roads through rolling hills, woods and open fields, where the Ice Age has shaped the landscape. Along the way, the guide will tell you about the nature, the landscape and the history associated with the area around Tranekær.

Nature, forest and traces of ancient times

The cycle tour takes you past Botofte Skovmose and through Bammeskov, where the forest and open countryside alternate along the way. Along the route, there are also several ancient monuments, bearing witness to the people who have lived in the area for thousands of years.

Nearby experiences

Tranekær is an ideal starting point for a range of experiences on Langeland. Here you can explore the historic castle town, Tranekær Castle, art in the landscape at TICKON and the Medicinal Gardens. The area is part of the UNESCO Global Geopark South Funen Archipelago, where nature and cultural history are closely intertwined.

The cycle tour proceeds at a leisurely pace and mainly follows minor roads through the undulating landscape. The tour is best suited to visitors who are used to cycling longer distances. The area around Tranekær can be reached by public transport to the local area, after which the tour continues by bike.
