Wild food at Skovsgaard on Langeland

Explore nature’s larder

At Skovsgaard, you can get to know nature’s vast larder. Accompanied by a nature guide, participants set off to discover edible wild plants, herbs and green flavours growing in the area.

From wild herbs to delicacies

With a basket over their arms, participants gather edible wild herbs in the countryside. Along the way, they supplement their harvest with vegetables and herbs from the nature centre’s kitchen garden, so that the day’s harvest can be used in small, flavourful dishes.

Cooking in the mobile outdoor kitchen

After the foraging trip, participants gather at the nature centre’s mobile outdoor kitchen. Here, the wild ingredients are transformed into spring rolls, samosas, pestos, herb patties and other green delicacies, demonstrating just how much flavour can be found in nature.

An educational family experience on Langeland

Wild food at Skovsgaard is a fun activity for both children and adults who want to get closer to nature through taste, smell and hands-on cooking. It is an ideal holiday experience on Langeland for anyone curious about nature, food and the great outdoors.

Nearby experiences

Skovsgaard is close to several wonderful nature experiences. In the area, you can explore Lindelse Nor, Hennetved Haver and Skovsgaard’s own nature areas, amongst other things. Lindelse Nor is a flooded Ice Age landscape in the UNESCO Global Geopark South Funen Archipelago.

Practical information

The activity takes place outdoors in nature areas and at an outdoor kitchen, where the ground may be uneven. Accessibility for wheelchair users may therefore depend on the weather and route. Please choose clothing and footwear suitable for outdoor life and cooking in the open air. Skovsgaard can be reached by car, and the journey can be planned using public transport to the area without following a specific route.
