Summer concerts in Rudkøbing and Simmerbølle

Take a seat in these atmospheric church interiors and enjoy three different summer concerts at Rudkøbing Church and Simmerbølle Church. The programme ranges from original compositions and classical works to hymns, contemporary Danish songs and communal singing.

Sounds of the Earth with Karen Svane

Rudkøbing Church, 29 July at 7.00 pm: Musician Karen Svane sings and plays her own compositions, inspired by personal reflections and grief. The music invites contemplation and reflection, and after the concert there will be an opportunity to sing together.

Classical concert for trumpet and organ

Rudkøbing Church on 4 August at 7.30 pm: Trumpeter Rupprecht Johannes Drees and organist Patricia van Duuren will fill Rudkøbing Church with classical music. The programme features works by, amongst others, Johann Sebastian Bach, Jeremiah Clarke, Alessandro Marcello and Thorvald Hansen.

Late summer concert with Salmeriet

At Simmerbølle Church on 16 August at 4.00 pm: Dramaturg Bente Christensen and guitarist and composer Jonas Kappel Lund will perform a late summer programme featuring well-known hymns by Grundtvig, Brorson and Kingo, as well as more recent songs by Janne Mark and Steffen Brandt. The concert combines music, anecdotes, moments of reflection and communal singing.
