Dean Butt on Strynø – literature in the South Funen Archipelago

Dean Butt is a guest at the Strynø Literary Society’s autumn programme, featuring an authors’ evening on Strynø. This is an opportunity to get to know the author better and discover his debut work, We Are Real Angels, which the organisers describe as both moving and critically acclaimed.

At Strynø Harbour, you can experience the island’s maritime history, whilst the South Funen Archipelago’s Smakke and Nature Centre tells the story of the ‘smakke’ boats, island life and the natural surroundings of Strynø. Strynø Mill is also an obvious stop on a tour of the island. Strynø is part of the South Funen Archipelago UNESCO Global Geopark.

Practical information

The authors’ evening will take place on Friday 25 September at 7.30 pm at Strynø Gl. Mejeri. There is an opportunity to have dinner together at 6.30 pm at the same venue.

The event is open to everyone. Tickets cost 35 kr. for members of the Strynø Literary Society and 50 kr. for non-members.

The event is organised so that you can catch an afternoon ferry from Rudkøbing and return the same evening. Free transport to and from the ferry is available if booked in advance by calling 30 92 95 77, which is also the number to use to register for the dinner.
