Become a marine farmer at the harvest tower in Rudkøbing
At the new Harvest Tower in Rudkøbing Marina, you can get up close to life beneath the sea’s surface and learn more about regenerative aquaculture. Langelands Efterskole, Havhøst and Havsmag invite you to an evening centred around light, mussels and tastings from the sea.
Explore the harvest tower, spot light in the water and discover light-loving water lilies. You can sample fresh seafood and learn more about how mussels and seaweed can be cultivated directly from the marina’s jetties and platforms.
The harvest tower makes it easy to lift farmed mussels out of the water for inspection and harvesting. It is used, amongst other things, by Langeland Boarding School for teaching purposes and provides the setting for activities where visitors can learn more about the sea’s resources and regenerative marine farming.
The activity takes place on the outermost jetty in the marina – past the barbecue huts at Skudehavnen.
Light in the Dark
The event is part of the ‘Light in the Dark’ cultural weekend taking place on Langeland and Strynø on Friday 6 November and Saturday 7 November 2026. See the full programme at langeland.dk/lys
