School camp and accommodation in the heart of nature on Strynø

An island school camp offering peace, togetherness and nature

Strynø Naturcamping is the perfect setting for a camp school focusing on outdoor life, community and sustainability. The campsite is peacefully located in the middle of the island and close to the Øhavets Smakke- og Naturcenter, where students can learn about everything from coastal life and biodiversity to sailing and coastal activities.

There is plenty of space for both children and adults, and the surroundings invite you to slow down and get closer to nature – with the option of staying in tents or cabins.

A sustainable setting for learning and socialising

Accommodation is on a green campsite with environmentally friendly facilities and access to a shelter, a fire pit and activity areas. The camp can easily combine learning and nature with experiences and communal meals under the open sky.

Pupils can pick fruit in the old apple orchard, gather firewood at the edge of the forest or experience the starry sky without the disturbance of city lights. All this with the sea just a short walk away.

Right next to the Smakkecenteret and the island's experiences

Just a few minutes' walk from the campsite is the Øhavets Smakke- og Naturcenter. Here, students can try their hand at traditional smack boats, participate in workshops or learn about the flora and fauna of the archipelago. Strynø is part of the UNESCO Global Geopark Det Sydfynske Øhav, and the area offers a unique cultural landscape and rich natural history.

Practical

Strynø is easily reached by ferry from Rudkøbing, and the crossing takes only about half an hour. From the harbour, it is a short walk to the campsite.
