Author talk with Annette Bjergfeldt

On 27 October, we invite you to a life-affirming evening in the company of singer-songwriter and author Annette Bjergfeldt. Annette is the author of two critically acclaimed novels and is now publishing her third, Himlen over Kattesundet. Her books are characterised by exuberant language and a bubbling imagination. They contain something universal and timeless and are full of humour, wit and spirit.

Himlen over Kattesundet is about an eccentric family of inventors in 1910 who miss out on the greatest patent of the era. It is about Sofia, who is searching for love and must walk a tightrope between God, Edison and the cat flap. A novel about flying, falling and landing on the right foot along the way.

Throughout the talk, we are taken on Annette’s own winding journey to success. She has been both Grammy-nominated and played to a horse as her sole audience. So she knows a thing or two about disappointments and sudden magic.

Annette Bjergfeldt (b. 1961) has written the two critically acclaimed novels The Song of Songs from Palermovej and Mr. Saito’s Travelogue. Her third novel, The Sky over Kattesundet, is due to be published in October 2026. Her books have been translated into 27 languages.
