Ursula Scavenius on Strynø – literature in the heart of the Archipelago

Poet, author and literary figure Ursula Scavenius is a guest at the Autumn Programme at the Strynø Literary Society. Here you can enjoy a literary evening focusing on her body of work and her poetic contribution to the audio narrative We Are the Sea.

A narrative with a connection to Strynø

We Are the Sea has a special connection to the visit to Strynø, as the audio narrative can be experienced, amongst other places, on the Strynø ferry. This means that literature can already become part of the journey across the South Funen Archipelago.

The literary evening with Ursula Scavenius will take place at Strynø Gl. Mejeri as part of the Strynø Literary Society’s autumn programme.

Take some time to explore Strynø before or after the event. Visit Strynø Harbour, discover Strynø Mill or pop into the Archipelago’s Taste and Nature Centre, where the island’s maritime history and nature take centre stage.

Strynø and the waters surrounding the island form part of the South Funen Archipelago UNESCO Global Geopark.

The Strynø Literary Society’s events are supported by the Danish Arts Foundation and Strynø.

Practical information

The author’s evening will take place on Friday 30 October at 7.30 pm at Strynø Gl. Mejeri. There is an opportunity to have dinner together at 6.30 pm at the same venue.

The event is open to everyone. Tickets cost 35 kr. for members of the Strynø Literary Society and 50 kr. for non-members.

The event is organised so that you can catch an afternoon ferry from Rudkøbing and return the same evening. Free transport to and from the ferry is available if booked in advance by calling 30 92 95 77 – this number is also used to book your place for dinner.
