Family fishing on Langeland for children and adults

Take the family out into the countryside and have a go at fishing with Sportsfiskeren Langeland. At Oehlenschlägers Bøg, both new and more experienced anglers are invited to enjoy a lovely family experience close to the forest and the coast.

Get help to get started with fishing

Family fishing on Langeland is also ideal for those who have never tried fishing before. Sportsfiskeren Langeland will help you get started, and if you don’t have your own fishing rod, you can borrow one. You’re also welcome to bring your own fishing tackle.

As part of the experience, the fish will be cooked so the family can have a taste.

A family outing at Stengade Forest

The event takes place at Oehlenschläger’s Beech in Stengade Forest. This is where the beech forest meets the beach, and legend has it that Adam Oehlenschläger found inspiration for the national anthem by the old beech tree.

Nearby attractions

Once you’ve packed away your fishing rod, the trip can continue through Stengade Forest and down to Stengade Beach. The forest is also home to Stengade Skanse. Not far from there, you can visit Tobaksladen, which tells the story of the local history of tobacco cultivation.

Tranekær and the area around the castle town also offer woods, wetlands and plenty of opportunities for walks in the countryside.

Practical information

If you wish to go fishing yourself, please be aware of the current regulations regarding fishing licences. Participants who are subject to the requirement (aged 18–67) must hold a valid fishing licence.

Dress for the weather. You are welcome to bring your own fishing rod and tackle, as well as a packed lunch and, if you wish, a blanket for your break.

In the event of bad weather, the organisers may change the meeting point, so please check the latest information before the trip. No specific details regarding access for wheelchair users or public transport options are provided in the event description.
