4. Oct: Experience a day of wind and waves as kitesurfers take to the sky and sea with adrenaline-pumping tricks and jumps.
SHORES Langeland invites you once again to Little Big Air – an airy, high-flying and action-packed competition for (amateur) kitesurfers.What can you expect? As a spectator at Little Big Air, you will experience a sky filled with colourful kites when up to 30 kitesurfers take to the water at the same time and harness the power of the wind in combination with the dynamics of the waves to perform spectacular jumps and tricks.It will be a day of wind and waves – so bring the whole family and be blown away (and backwards!) by the impressive jumps and wild tricks. Stay up to date on the date and location on SHORES Langeland's Facebook page. Competition in heights and somersaults At Little Big Air, kitesurfers compete for honour, heights and breakneck tricks. Some of the participants reach up to 15 metres above the water surface when they shoot into the air in WOO high jumps – a wild sight when the kitesurfer floats through the air and lands safely with the board under them. There are several categories:
- WOO high jump competition for women
- WOO for men, divided into under and over 8 metres
- Best Big Air rider (unisex)
- The wildest crash of the day (unisex)
In addition to the honour and great prizes, all participants will receive a high-quality T-shirt, a light local lunch, delicious drinks – and the opportunity to take a trip to the sauna if their bodies need a little warmth after the windy conditions.
A day on the wind's terms – 4 October 2025
Little Big Air 2025 is expected to take place on Saturday 4 October, with the possibility of moving to Sunday 5 October if wind conditions are better. SHORES Langeland will assess the weather forecast on Thursday evening and announce the final date and location thereafter. If there is insufficient wind on the first weekend, the event will instead be held on Saturday 1st or Sunday 2nd November.
The competition will be held on the beach with the best wind conditions – either Bagenkop Strand, Hesselbjerg Strand or Drejet ved Spodsbjerg.
