Fishing, community and change on Langeland

Langeland Trout Days is much more than an angling competition - it's a strong tradition, a community across generations and a commitment to both nature and young fishermen. April is sea trout season on the coasts of Langeland, and Trout Days is the highlight of the year for passionate anglers and sports fishermen.

An event with deep roots

The event originated from a local idea in 1989 and is now being held for the 36th time. From the start, the aim has been to raise funds for youth work in Sportsfiskeren Langeland - while promoting sustainable fishing and nature awareness. In particular, the association supports junior work and has nurtured many young fishermen, e.g. through the Danish Sports Fishing Association's junior courses.

New structure - same great experience

In 2025, the rules have been adapted so that boat fishing is included in the ordinary competition - the previous separate boat competition has been cancelled. You can now fish from a boat, but all fish compete on equal terms. The winner is still determined by weight, with clear rules for fish measurement and quality.

Environment and nature conservation at the centre

Half of the competition profits are donated to local environmental projects, such as restoring streams and improving spawning opportunities for trout. The association also supports rescue plans for Funen's salmonids and works closely with other fishing organisations.

Participation and practical info

You can buy the participation programme in selected shops and pay with MobilePay. Remember to bring a valid fishing licence and note that only one fish can be weighed in per participant. Juniors and new participants are warmly encouraged to take part - the competition is for both recreational and dedicated anglers.
