Nietzsche and Heidegger with Kasper Nefer Olsen in Tranekær

Friedrich Nietzsche and Martin Heidegger are among the most famous and controversial German philosophers of recent times. They can be difficult to engage with, but their ideas have had a major impact on modern philosophy. In Tranekær, historian of ideas Kasper Nefer Olsen introduces the two bodies of work and provides an overview of some of the ideas that have made Nietzsche and Heidegger so central – and at the same time so demanding to read.

Two vast and complex bodies of work

Both Nietzsche and Heidegger left behind extensive bodies of work, which can still be difficult to grasp. Furthermore, some of their texts have not been fully translated into Danish, making an introduction to their ideas particularly relevant for those who wish to engage more closely with philosophy without necessarily being familiar with the works beforehand. Kasper Nefer Olsen has himself worked on Heidegger and has, amongst other things, translated Why Poets? into Danish.
