School camp at Søgård Hovedgård on South Langeland

Søgård Hovedgård is situated in the open countryside south of Bagenkop and provides a setting for school camps for children and young people from approved institutions, accompanied by their carers. The venue is therefore not let to private groups or for general holiday stays.

At Søgård Hovedgård, there are excellent opportunities to fill the days with physical activity and socialising. The site’s multi-purpose hall can be used for various indoor activities, whilst the outdoor areas provide space for play, campfires and spending time in the open air. These facilities make the venue ideal for organisations seeking a school camp stay on Langeland with a focus on community and activities.

School camp close to nature

A school camp stay at Søgård Hovedgård provides an excellent base from which to explore South Langeland. The area around the estate is characterised by open fields, woodland, wetlands and the distinctive Langeland hathills. The coast and the natural landscape of South Langeland are also within easy reach for walks and excursions.

The history of Søgård Hovedgård

Søgård was founded in the late 17th century by Frederik Ahlefeldt on land comprising several farms in Søndenbro and later became part of the County of Langeland under Tranekær. The present buildings date from the mid-1800s. Following the abolition of the manorial system, parts of the land were divided into smallholdings, and the area around the manor therefore also tells the story of the development of agriculture in South Langeland.
