Bøhlandet – a personal story about Langeland
What does the place we come from mean to us? And is it possible to both love and want to leave one’s hometown? In the short film Bøhlandet, Langeland-born director Dennis Kirkegaard Bønnelykke takes you on an honest and personal journey back to the place where he grew up.
A short film about roots, homesickness and provincial life
Set against the backdrop of South Langeland’s beautiful landscapes, Bøhlandet explores the many emotions associated with the place where one grew up. The film depicts both the beauty, the difficulties and the ambivalence of life in the provinces.
Through personal memories and powerful imagery, Dennis Kirkegaard Bønnelykke tells a story rooted in Langeland, yet one that touches on something most people can relate to: the relationship with the place you come from.
