Try the new bike network on Langeland
Plan your own cycling trip quickly and easily with the new leisure cycle network coming to Langeland in 2025/26.
If you're cycling on Langeland, you'll soon have a new, easy-to-use tool for exploring the island's unique landscapes, roadside stands, coastline and historical gems from the saddle.
Look forward to the new Langeland Recreational Cycle Network, which brings together the best cycle-friendly roads and paths - and makes it easy for you to plan your own trips around the island.
The network takes you through beautiful countryside, charming villages, atmospheric market towns and past local farm shops, restaurants, accommodation and exciting attractions.
Whether you're looking for short excursions or long adventures, the routes have been carefully selected with a focus on road safety and adventure value. You can plan your route as a round trip (A-A), from one point to another (A-B) - or with stops and detours along the way (A-B-C).
Signs will be installed in 2025/26
The routes on the cycling network can already be found digitally, but by 2026, the network will be signposted and linked by numbered nodes (signs), making it easier to find the best routes when travelling by bike.
The node system, on which the cycle network is based, was invented in Belgium in the mid-90s as a new navigation and signage method to meet the need for flexibility and touring by bike, where a network of cycle-friendly routes invites experiences and recreation. A cycle network gives recreational cyclists - citizens and tourists alike - better access to nature, places to eat and stay, and other experiences.
Today, recreational cycling networks exist in Belgium and the Netherlands as well as parts of Germany and France.
The bicycle network on Funen and the Islands is funded by Nordea-fonden and the ten municipalities on Funen. The digital solution is supported by the Danmarks Erhvervsfremmebestyrelse.
