Explore Langelandsfortet after dark
17.00–21.30: As darkness falls, Langelandsfortet takes on a new look. The familiar bunkers, cannons, vehicles and historical installations take on a whole new appearance as they emerge from the darkness and are illuminated by atmospheric light installations.

LIGHT IN THE DARK at Langelandsfortet
On this special evening, we invite the whole family to a unique experience at the fort, where history, light, darkness and cosiness go hand in hand. Here, you can explore the historic site and see the large military artefacts in a way you wouldn’t normally. As daylight fades, even the familiar surroundings suddenly take on a slightly more mysterious air – and you might spot details you didn’t notice earlier in the day.
Admission is free for everyone, so bring your family, friends or neighbours along for a cosy evening at Langelandsfortet.
During the evening, you can, amongst other things:
- Experience an artistic surprise. Jens Galschiøt’s artwork ‘Cocoon’ – and without giving too much away, we can say that it will be an installation that sparks thoughts, questions and conversations.
- Buy a marshmallow kit and enjoy yourselves around the bonfire with toasted marshmallows.
- Buy coffee, sausages, paninis and other treats from our food van.
- Visit Super Dark and experience what it feels like to move around in true night-time darkness without any artificial light.
The evening is for both children and adults, and there’s plenty of opportunity to combine the experiences with a cosy time around the campfire. Perhaps you could start with a stroll amongst the illuminated installations, take a walk through Super Dark, and round off the evening with hot coffee and a marshmallow by the campfire?
Dark Skies – A night like never before
Super Dark offers a truly unique experience of darkness. Here, you’ll be reminded of just how much we’re usually surrounded by artificial light – and how different the world feels when your sense of sight can no longer help you find your way.
Moving around in total darkness can be fascinating, surprising and challenging all at once. When your sense of sight is impaired, it becomes more difficult to find your bearings and spot obstacles. That’s why you should move carefully, take your time and be aware of your surroundings. You enter Super Dark at your own risk. If you’re unsure whether the experience is right for you or your child, you’re always welcome to ask our staff before you go in.
A little treat for both body and soul
Hungry? The food van is ready with hot drinks, cakes, ice cream, crispy hot dogs – and marshmallows to roast over the fire. Perfect for a cosy evening under the stars.
