At Langeland you will find various forms of art in and of the Langeland nature.

Art in the Landscape

Scattered around the island you will find sculptures, statues and artworks created by local and foreign artists. Some of the works have been given to the island as gifts, some have been acquired by Langeland Municipality, while others have been created for a specific place for a specific occasion.

There is great diversity in expression, material use and size ratio. What the works have in common is that they can all be found in public space.

The Art Route

The art route gives you the chance to combine seeing the island’s best artistic and cultural attractions with visiting individual artists and craftspeople, all while you travel through Langeland’s beautiful countryside of Langeland.

TICKON

TICKON (Tranekær International Centre for Art and Nature) a new experience every time you visit. The artworks, which have been created by the most talented artists worldwide working in the genre of Land Art, change from day to day, altered by the nature that surrounds them.

There is an admission charge for the artworks at TICKON. The other artworks can be viewed free of charge throughout Langeland.

What is Land Art?

Land Art draws attention to nature and our scarce resources. At the same time, this art form challenges the notion of immortality. However, Land Art can be difficult to understand because it challenges our conventional understanding of what art is.

Alfio Bonanno: Art should be able to surprise

Alfio Bonanno has had a major influence on art on Langeland, both as the man behind the TICKON Land Art park and as an artist with eight works in public spaces spread across most of Langeland.
