In the UNESCO Global Geopark ‘The South Funen Archipelago’, you can explore nine sites on Langeland and Strynø that are of particular geological interest.
Here, the ice has created a truly unique landscape, and a dramatic rise in sea level at the end of the last ice age formed the archipelago, which has defined the area’s nature and culture ever since. The geopark has been designated a UNESCO Global Geopark since 2024.
Lindelse Nor (Cove), located five kilometres from Rudkøbing, is a shallow 10 square kilometres cove containing seven islets and islands, two of which are inhabited.
The four-kilometre stretch of coast between Bagenkop and Dovnsklint offers a string of cliffs with beautiful views and cobble-strewn beaches. The cliffs testify to Langeland’s unique glacial landscape.
